Marriage licenses are issued by the State of California and handled separately from ceremony experiences.
For couples who want a truly seamless destination elopement, we offer referrals to a trusted concierge service for confidential marriage licenses ($386). With this accommodation, a licensed notary meets you at a convenient public location near your hotel — no courthouse visit, no appointments, and no extra errands during your stay.
Many couples choose this option for its simplicity, privacy, and convenience.
A valid California marriage license is required for ceremonies to be legally binding.
You do not need to have your license at the time of booking — many couples secure it closer to their ceremony date. If a license is not obtained by the ceremony date, we are still happy to host your ceremony symbolically.
